This function comprises a matrix which can be designed freely to satisfy the desired criteria. Thereby the postfilter can be matched to the generic LCMV beamformer. It is shown that this transfer function is a generalization of many known postfilters. Furthermore completely new postfilter designs are possible. It is discussed how known and new postfilters relate to each other in the context of the generalized postfilter. Finally, a fully adaptive implementation of such a filter is presented and compared to known approaches. The results show that the proposed system outperforms the state-of-the-art postfilter proposed by Leukimmiatis. View pdf
